A dull blue hallway with a door. Over the door is an arched transom. To the left of the door is a blurry collage of sheets of paper: the sort of chaotic collection of posters, flyers, and detritus that you'd see accumulate in a public area. Above the doorway are several thick pipes. A spherical white light is hanging from one of them, although it is off. Visible in the dark doorway is a slightly hunched, ghostly greenish figure. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A lighthouse at the edge of a rocky shore at dusk. The lighthouse is small and dark-colored, with a single dark window in its side. The sky is a bluish-purple; a crescent moon is in the upper right of the sky. The lighthouse appears abandoned. The beacon housing, a dull glassy green, is not lit inside. The base of the lighthouse is covered in faded graffiti. Nevertheless, there is one resident, and possibly a permanent one: a white figure on the balcony encircling the beacon housing. The figure has one arm outstretched, releasing a large black bird into the night. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A red clock tower stands in the middle of a town square. The tower has a conical red roof and a red pennant flying from the top. The clock is also red, with Roman numerals. The time it displays is 9:41. The tower appears to be in shadow, a yellow sun blazing in the orange sky behind it. Standing in the arched doorway of the tower is a person pulling on a rope. In the background are the shadowy silhouettes of towers and buildings. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A vast, rocky, underground cavern. Heavy craggy walls loom in from both sides. Jutting up from below is a small rocky hill, on which is precariously balanced a small boulder. Dancing on top of the boulder, waving its fists, is a childlike figure wearing a large crown. Hellish flames erupt from below, casting the entire scene in a reddish-yellow light. This state of the union is delivered by Chris Silverman.

A single streetlamp stands next to a small path winding through a wooded park. It's at night, and in the middle of a blizzard. The sky is a dull, slate gray. The ground is mostly covered with snow. The lamp casts a cone of white light, thick with snowflakes. The surrounding trees are just blurs. The path is in the process of being covered up by snow. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A vast lake on a gray night. In the foreground is a dark shoreline jutting out into the water. Most of the shoreline has trees. At the very end is a small castle: just a turret, really, with a few small buildings at its base. There is a window on the top floor of the turret, and another window in one of the buildings. Both glow white, the light reflecting off the water. In the distance is the blurry shape of another shoreline. Above the horizon sits a hazy moon, mostly obscured by clouds, seen as a series of glowing white stripes. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman."

A strange, dark figure stalks along a grassy hillside under a bleak, grayish-yellow sky. The figure has long arms, thin legs, and a heavy body. It looks like it's wearing a suit and tie, but the upper and lower parts are one garment. It has a small green ID badge. Its head is covered by a hood with antennas, a zipper running down the middle of it. The eyes are round and glowing green, accompanied by a few small green LEDs. Its right hand has been replaced by a tool of some sort. In the background is the ridgeline of a mountain; a hazy white sun hangs in the sky. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A room that looks like it may have belonged to a child at one point. It appears abandoned now: almost nothing hanging on the walls, and no toys on the floor. There's a white dresser with two pink drawers, and a few books and a red clock on top of it. The drawers have a few random stickers: stars, a smiley-face. The wall is bright yellow, with long shadows suggesting it is drenched with sunlight. The dresser casts a long, greenish shadow as well. There are a few faded patches where pictures once hung. Still taped to the wall are two rough, crayon drawings of a face and a tree. Also drawn on the wall are some red sketches that do not look like they were drawn by a child: several running animals and figures with bows and arrows that look like those seen in cave paintings. The floor is a light tan color. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A clear evening. The sky is an indigo blue, and clear, except for a large black flying saucer hovering overhead. A greenish-white beam of light extends from the underside of the saucer to the ground. The saucer is hovering over a house. The door to the house is open, green light spilling onto the grass, but no one is visible. Several of the windows are also lit with greenish light. In the background is a purple blur of trees. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A tiny, rocky speck of an island somewhere in the middle of a vast blue ocean, under a vast and cloudless sky. Mounted on top of the island is a large red "location" symbol, that teardrop-shaped icon that you see on Google maps. This one looks like it's made of metal. It's at an angle, held up on a rickety framework of beams. A small white boat with a red stripe along it is docked at the island. Someone wearing an orange life jacket is on top of the island, repairing the beams. A white seabird is sitting on the top of the icon, while a few more circle above. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A deep hole at night, under a deep blue-indigo sky. The hole is viewed from the side through a cutaway perspective. The soil is gray, like concrete. The interior of the hole is rough and irregular. The end of the hole isn't visible, but whatever's down there is giving off an eerie radioactive green glow, illuminating the rocks on the side of the hole in sharp relief. Someone has placed a barbed wire fence around the hole, as well as a triangular warning sign. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A vast, green meadow under a mostly cloudless blue sky. The meadow is dotted with white and yellow flowers. In the distance are some blue mountains. Sticking up out of the grass is something unmistakably artificial, and yet unidentifiable: a bent, rusty pipe that resembles a tree trunk, with small pipes, wires, and a large hole towards the top. Extending out of the hole is what could be either a tail or a tentacle: a shiny green appendage with bioluminescent red and green dots on it. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A dark, dull night—the world is a slate-green color. A figure wearing a hat and coat stands over a perfectly round, cylindrical hole in the ground, illuminated only by the yellow glow of a lantern. A ladder protrudes from the hole. In the immediate background is the blurry suggestion of bushes; in the far background loom two tall cooling towers reminiscent of a nuclear power plant. The towers have small, glowing red lights on them. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A strange and disturbing figure, rendered entirely in dark, dull, monochromatic blue-green against a pale tan background. The figure is lurching forward, the way a zombie would, arms hanging down. One arm is longer than the other. Its legs are oddly thin compared to its upper body. It is wearing a suit coat and tie, but the left arm of the coat is short, like a short-sleeved shirt, and the left side of the coat is higher than the right. Also pinned to the left breast of the coat is what looks like an ID card, although whatever is printed on it is not visible. The figure wears mismatched boots, one of which is open, and appears generally dysfunctional. Where its head would be is a shapeless black smudge; a void that looks like a large ink blot. At the center of the void is a small orange icon of a gas pump—the icon a car displays when it is close to running out of fuel. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

An eerie scene: a crimson sky smeared with purple clouds; a purple mountain range in the background; and a craggy mountainside in the foreground. The mountainside has several small caves that make it resemble the skull of some unknown animal. Taking off into the sky is a vast, black bird that may be living in one of the caves. It is heading towards a yellow moon that is partially obscured by clouds. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

The view from a Zoom meeting: a dark gray background with two people in the meeting. The video screens are stacked one on the other. The upper person's video screen is completely black, with a small, red crossed-out-microphone icon that indicates they are muted. The label on the screen says "God" in small, white letters. The lower video screen shows a girl with long dark hair and a dark short-sleeved shirt. She is in a small room with a few dimly visible posters on the wall. The entire scene is rendered in shades of pale blue that suggest a dark room lit only by a computer screen. Her name is displayed as "Margaret", and there is a green border around her video screen, indicating that she is speaking. Someone familiar with classic children's novels will recognize this as a reference to the book "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret", by Judy Blume, whose birthday is today. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

Two planets hang in a reddish-purple space. The planet in the foreground is purplish and has the sun on the horizon, casting a blazing yellow glow. The surface of the planet has many tiny white and green dots, arranged in clusters that indicate roads and cities. The second, farther planet is smaller, perhaps a moon. It has a greenish highlight from the sun, but does not show any signs of life. Heading past it into space, a trail of fire and smoke behind it, is a tiny rocket that has launched from the larger planet. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A small asteroid floats in the starry indigo expanse of deep space. Somewhat unusually, the asteroid has a tractor-style seat, a steering wheel, and red taillights. There's no sign of a driver. The front of the asteroid is illuminated with red light, as though catching sunlight from an unseen star. Stenciled on the side of the asteroid, as though it belongs to a fleet, is the number 4 inside a gray circle. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A smoggy gray day, with a dim white sun high in the sky. A dark, dully colored figure with a clock key sticking out of its back is drinking from a hose that comes from something that resembles a gas pump: a structure with a small green glowing screen and a circular sign sticking out of the top. The sign has a red triangle on it. The pump itself has a few red stripes, as does the hose. The entire scene is slightly foggy and washed out. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A drab, gray basement room. Heavy pipes hang from the ceiling. There is little to look at in this place: a white analog clock, a heavy gray door in the wall, the left edge of a bulletin board to the right of it. Under the pipes, a ghostly white figure holds a mop, sweeping a polished dark floor. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A huge, craggy stone head sits under a dull blue sky in a dull blue meadow. The head is clearly carved to have a rudimentary face: heavy brow, round eyes, and a long, heavy nose. The rock is rough and cracking. Sticking out of the stone's forehead is a rod with a black sign hanging from it. The sign has the words "Now serving", and then a red digital display showing the number 42. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A statue made of dull gray-green concrete stands against a blue sky. The statue wears a suit coat. Instead of a head, it has a boulder, balanced on its stumplike neck. A crude red smiling face is spray-painted onto the boulder. Similarly, a red necktie is spray-painted onto its chest. There are a few white wispy clouds in the background. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A gray, stone statue wearing a suit and tie stands waist deep in the snow under a gray sky. The statue is partly covered with snow, and has a few small cracks in it. It is taking a selfie, holding its stone phone up in front of its face and smiling. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A blue-green world somewhere under the water. Something vast and old is shifting up from the depths. Only its head is visible: round like a fish's, with one dead black eye and a large mouth full of pointed teeth. The creature is dark blue, with slightly wrinkled skin, and covered in illegible graffiti tags. Floating above it, still deep underwater, is a person wearing a suit and tie. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A tall castle turret stands against a green sky. The turret is mostly blue, with one side illuminated gold by the sun. On the right side of the turret is an arched window. Extending out from beneath the window is a long rod, like a perch on a bird feeder. Sitting on the roof is a large bird, species indeterminate. The bird is mostly dark, with a yellowish-green sheen from the sunlight. The sun, round and yellow, sits in the top right of the sky. The bird is looking up at it. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A dark evening, somewhere in a remote and mountainous area. The sky is dark purple, with a crimson glow on the horizon. On the small hill closest to the viewer is a single streetlight, casting a greenish glow over the ground. In the background is the blurry rise of another hill, black against the horizon. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A bright, moonlit winter night. The full moon hangs in a slightly cloudy sky. A slight tinge of white reflects off the wisps of dull blue clouds. The Groke, a formless dark creature with a large nose, trudges up a snow-covered hill, casting a blue shadow in the moonlight. The Groke is holding a phone in one large paw and staring at it, yellow eyes fixed on the white screen. It's light, all right, but entirely without warmth. A dark treeline is visible over the hill. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

An ominous scene: a steep, dark cliff under a crimson sky. Right at the edge of the cliff, dangling down from the sky from an unseen source, is a long rope ladder. Racing towards the ladder—gripping it, in fact—is a figure wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase. Right behind the figure and reaching towards it is a huge dark arm with grasping fingers; an unhappy client, perhaps. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A black background with a red "Closed" sign, like a lot of businesses are displaying right now in solidarity with the nationwide general strike and the protest against ICE. The sign reads "Sorry, We're Closed" in white letters in that mix of script and all-caps sans-serif that I like so much. In the lower left are the words "Fire ICE", scrawled in neon-pink graffiti lettering. In the top right is the Minnesota flag, a design that features a light blue field with a darker blue obtuse angular figure on the hoist. There's one small modification, though: in place of the white star is the Rebel Alliance logo from Star Wars. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

Goblin town: a dull, gray netherworld. A figure with horns and a long tail stands in front of a glowing billboard displaying a subway map of some unknown city. The map has numerous interconnecting colored lines, rendered in sharp geometric lines. No city is recognizable, and no station names are legible. The figure, silhouetted in the greenish glow from the board, is slightly hunched, with short legs and long arms. It is holding a briefcase, and has a windup key sticking out of its back. A low fog hangs over the ground. Glowing green-white fluorescent tubes hang above the scene. A few dim, horned shapes roam in the background. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A strange, monstrous-looking machine that looks like the rusting cab of a classic truck, mounted on two mechanical legs. Running center down the front of the cab is a line that divides the windshield and ends in a sharp nose. On either side of the cab are two curled, pointed fins that strongly suggest ears. The machine has one visible robot arm with clawed fingers. While the machine is primarily a rusty brown color, it has orange- and purple-tinged areas, with green spots on the rear side. Its legs are also purple, with blue spots and several spikes. It is wandering through a bluish-purple meadow under a bright green sky with a blazing white sun. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A green, goblinesque figure wearing a black baseball cap backwards, an indigo jacket with gold stars on the back, a pair of garish red-orange pants, and black boots with a purple lightning bolt on one. The figure has long pointed ears, a long, pointed nose, a long, pointed face, and long, pointed teeth. It is gesturing creepily with its hands the way a monster in a horror film might do. Its eyes are partly covered by the baseball cap. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".
