A surreal, industrial landscape: a lopsided stack of concrete shapes against a neon green sky. The shapes do not have the precision or symmetry of an industrial facility; they look thrown together haphazardly, with a chaotic collection of tall exhaust pipes bolted onto the back. The result is some sort of facility that looks like it was designed and assembled by a severely disoriented engineer. The concrete is grungy and cracked, with several graffiti tags visible. A small stairway leads down. The topmost box has a round hole and a rod sticking out of it, like a birdhouse. A bird can be seen flying off into the smoggy sky. A few hazy outlines of factories are visible in the distance. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A small, childlike person stands on a dark shore or small hillside on a dark, gray night. The ground is heavy with fog. The person holds a glowing lantern that casts a greenish light all around. Looming out of the fog, in front of the person on the shore, is a tall dark figure with a featureless white mask over its face. The mask has no holes. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A grassy, bluish-green landscape under a blazing yellow sky. Descending from the sky, attached to a large red balloon, is a blue figure wearing a futuristic space suit. The suit has yellow dots and buttons, and the figure is holding something that looks like a 1950s sci-fi raygun. A few birds circle in the sky in the distance. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A figure wearing a dark greenish suit and tie walks in an empty, light blue space. The figure has no hands and no head. Where the figure's head would be is a very large eye with a greenish iris. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A full white moon sits in a cloudy night sky. The shadows on the moon are in the form of an eerie smiley-face. The clouds in the sky are in long rows and reflect the moonlight. Below is a dark patch of several pine trees. Walking among the trees is a glowing greenish-white figure. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A grassy hill under a blue sky. On top of the hill is a rectangular granite structure with an arched doorway in the middle of it. The doorway reveals a glowing green interior, even though the rectangular structure looks more like a slab than a building. Framed in the doorway, or portal, is a hunched figure with horns and a walking staff. Above the doorway is a black sign with white lettering that says "Downtown", followed by the numbers 4 and 5 in green circles. Anyone familiar with New York City subway signage will probably recognize these. Perched on top of the granite block is a black bird with a green eye. There are a few white clouds in the sky, and a blurry hill in the distance. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A dark figure stands in a doorway somewhere in a vast, stone building. The doorway is relatively narrow compared to its height, which reaches up indeterminately. The interior of the room in which the figure stands is dark. The doorway opens onto a hallway, which is brightly illuminated by white light from two very tall, glowing windows. The figure is clutching a dagger and appears to be waiting for someone. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A tall, stone Greek letter pi stands against a yellow sky. The letter looks like a monument, and is slightly chipped and cracked. The ground is rocky and purple. There's a blurry yellow treeline in the background. A few birds circle above. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A tall, craggy, oblong boulder stands on a small hill at sunset. The sky is pink, with yellow at the horizon. The boulder has a dark purplish color to it. On its darker side are fixed four googly eyes, the kind one would find at a crafts store. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A figure in a heavy purple robe stands under a blue evening sky. The figure is mostly unseen, buried under the robe; one skeletal hand is visible, holding a walking stick. Under the hood, where its face would be, is a red icon of a low battery encircled by an Apple-esque charging ring: a gray circle with a short red arc indicating that the charge is low. The robe has a greenish sheen to it. In the distance is a blurry hint of trees. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A figure wearing a heavy metal mask walks through a gray field under a gray sky. The mask is tall and rectangular, the dull green of tarnished color, and covers most of the figure's body. It has one eye on the lower part. The upper part is cracked and striated, with a few patches and holes. Above, a few birds circle in the sky. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A stack of indecipherable objects sits in a gloomy dull gray netherworld. The objects vaguely resemble tree stumps, although at least one of them looks like bolted-together metal. Two of them have neat, machined holes. Drifting from one of the holes is a wispy glowing entity that looks like a tadpole made of white light. The environment is foggy, and the dim outlines of other stacks can be seen in the background. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A figure stands on a craggy dark mountaintop under a dark blue sky. The figure's hand is outstretched, and a glowing whitish-green fireball leaps from it into the sky, casting a glow over everything. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A heavy, rusty, iron railroad bridge stands against a blue, mostly cloudless sky. Sticking up from it is a railroad signal. Walking across the bridge is a small light-colored goat. Hanging beneath the bridge, sitting on a swing, is a heavy, black, horned figure with glowing green eyes. A blurry green treeline is visible below, in the background. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A huge, boxy machine of some sort is lowered from an unseen source up above in the yellow sky. It is the size of a small house and a dull, metallic gray, with various vents and protrusions that make it look sort of like a generator. On top, it has a small chimney and several antennae. On the sides, it has several orange warning decals. The text on these signs isn't visible, but they have a large smiley-face icon. Standing on the ground, directing at interposition, is a figure wearing an orange helmet and an orange and neon green reflective vest. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A small, dark building that looks like an abandoned furnace sits in a dismal green meadow under a dismal green-brown sky. It looks like it is made of cast iron, and has a door with rounded edges. Sticking up from the top of it are two dangerously rickety chimneys. One is slightly larger than the other and looks like it is made from bolted-together scrap metal. The two are fastened together with small metal strips. The building is not abandoned, however: orange light glows between bars on the door, and from a small side window, and dull smoke is coming from the chimneys. Visible in the window is the dark profile of someone inside. A small mailbox sits to the left side of the building. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A thin figure paints a giant red devil, comparatively the size of a house, on a gray surface. While the devil's right leg is rough and unfinished, and parts of it have red paint drips, the rest of the devil looks quite realistic and appears to be coming alive. The devil has turned its head and is looking down at the painter, an expression of dark suspicion on its face. The painter has a white halo above its head. A small silver and red paint can sits on the ground. The painting—this painting, the meta-painting, if you will—is signed "Chris Silverman".

A complex landscape of craggy green mountains under an orange dusk sky. Flying over the mountains is a witch on a broomstick, the yellow light from the setting sun glinting off them. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A bright red-orange background. Falling from the sky like a safe tossed off a skyscraper is a large, brass-colored cube that looks like it is made of metal or stone. Embossed on the slightly cracked front is a chunky question mark with four bolts around it, like the question boxes in the Mario universe. It is, judging from the size of the person running away from its anticipated point of impact, the size of a small house. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A vast, green meadow with small white and yellow flowers dotting it. In the background is a row of trees. In the far distance is a bluish mountain. High in the cloudless sky are two white birds and someone piloting a brightly colored rainbow hang glider. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman."

A simple line drawing of a person with a large body and a small head. The person is wearing a hat with a brim. Their head is the blue Mac OS logo: the classic one that looks like a smiling face logo divided into two blue halves. They are carrying a suitcase with an icon of a small compact Mac on it. On the front of their shirt is a minimalist, colorful painting of a compact Mac. For the most part, though, the composition is a canvas-colored tan. This, as some might recognize, is Mr Macintosh, a drawing initially commissioned by Steve Jobs from the Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon. He wasn't carrying a System suitcase in the original version, though. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A barren, reddish-pink landscape under a black, starry sky. It looks like a desert on another planet. In the middle of it is a small mound of rock, with a boulder balanced on top of the rock. The rocky pile casts a dark purple shadow on the flat ground. Sitting on top of the boulder is a blue person, its back to the viewer. It has one hand on the rock and another hand on its knee, and it is staring up at the starry blackness, undoubtedly thinking that it is tired of earth. These people. It is tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A dull blue hallway with a door. Over the door is an arched transom. To the left of the door is a blurry collage of sheets of paper: the sort of chaotic collection of posters, flyers, and detritus that you'd see accumulate in a public area. Above the doorway are several thick pipes. A spherical white light is hanging from one of them, although it is off. Visible in the dark doorway is a slightly hunched, ghostly greenish figure. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A lighthouse at the edge of a rocky shore at dusk. The lighthouse is small and dark-colored, with a single dark window in its side. The sky is a bluish-purple; a crescent moon is in the upper right of the sky. The lighthouse appears abandoned. The beacon housing, a dull glassy green, is not lit inside. The base of the lighthouse is covered in faded graffiti. Nevertheless, there is one resident, and possibly a permanent one: a white figure on the balcony encircling the beacon housing. The figure has one arm outstretched, releasing a large black bird into the night. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A red clock tower stands in the middle of a town square. The tower has a conical red roof and a red pennant flying from the top. The clock is also red, with Roman numerals. The time it displays is 9:41. The tower appears to be in shadow, a yellow sun blazing in the orange sky behind it. Standing in the arched doorway of the tower is a person pulling on a rope. In the background are the shadowy silhouettes of towers and buildings. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A vast, rocky, underground cavern. Heavy craggy walls loom in from both sides. Jutting up from below is a small rocky hill, on which is precariously balanced a small boulder. Dancing on top of the boulder, waving its fists, is a childlike figure wearing a large crown. Hellish flames erupt from below, casting the entire scene in a reddish-yellow light. This state of the union is delivered by Chris Silverman.

A single streetlamp stands next to a small path winding through a wooded park. It's at night, and in the middle of a blizzard. The sky is a dull, slate gray. The ground is mostly covered with snow. The lamp casts a cone of white light, thick with snowflakes. The surrounding trees are just blurs. The path is in the process of being covered up by snow. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A vast lake on a gray night. In the foreground is a dark shoreline jutting out into the water. Most of the shoreline has trees. At the very end is a small castle: just a turret, really, with a few small buildings at its base. There is a window on the top floor of the turret, and another window in one of the buildings. Both glow white, the light reflecting off the water. In the distance is the blurry shape of another shoreline. Above the horizon sits a hazy moon, mostly obscured by clouds, seen as a series of glowing white stripes. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman."

A strange, dark figure stalks along a grassy hillside under a bleak, grayish-yellow sky. The figure has long arms, thin legs, and a heavy body. It looks like it's wearing a suit and tie, but the upper and lower parts are one garment. It has a small green ID badge. Its head is covered by a hood with antennas, a zipper running down the middle of it. The eyes are round and glowing green, accompanied by a few small green LEDs. Its right hand has been replaced by a tool of some sort. In the background is the ridgeline of a mountain; a hazy white sun hangs in the sky. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A room that looks like it may have belonged to a child at one point. It appears abandoned now: almost nothing hanging on the walls, and no toys on the floor. There's a white dresser with two pink drawers, and a few books and a red clock on top of it. The drawers have a few random stickers: stars, a smiley-face. The wall is bright yellow, with long shadows suggesting it is drenched with sunlight. The dresser casts a long, greenish shadow as well. There are a few faded patches where pictures once hung. Still taped to the wall are two rough, crayon drawings of a face and a tree. Also drawn on the wall are some red sketches that do not look like they were drawn by a child: several running animals and figures with bows and arrows that look like those seen in cave paintings. The floor is a light tan color. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A clear evening. The sky is an indigo blue, and clear, except for a large black flying saucer hovering overhead. A greenish-white beam of light extends from the underside of the saucer to the ground. The saucer is hovering over a house. The door to the house is open, green light spilling onto the grass, but no one is visible. Several of the windows are also lit with greenish light. In the background is a purple blur of trees. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A tiny, rocky speck of an island somewhere in the middle of a vast blue ocean, under a vast and cloudless sky. Mounted on top of the island is a large red "location" symbol, that teardrop-shaped icon that you see on Google maps. This one looks like it's made of metal. It's at an angle, held up on a rickety framework of beams. A small white boat with a red stripe along it is docked at the island. Someone wearing an orange life jacket is on top of the island, repairing the beams. A white seabird is sitting on the top of the icon, while a few more circle above. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".
