A tall, dark brown column of soil stands isolated,a greenish-yellow sky in the background. The column is shaped a little like a tornado, the top part flat, tapering off toward the base. The ground it's standing on is unseen. The effect suggests ground at a higher elevation, hollowed away by erosion or heavy machinery until only a remnant of the original topography remains. Sticking out of the column of soil are small roots. Sitting on the flat part is a small red house with two white-framed windows, a chimney, and a tiny porch. In front of the house is a red mailbox. In the sky, two birds are circling. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".
