The sea floor. Sticking up from it is a large rock. The rock has a glowing red opening that looks like an entry to the interior of the earth. Hovering above the sea floor, directly in front of the red opening, is a small spherical submersible with a large dorsal fin and a small camera on a robot arm. A person can be seen through a round yellow porthole on the side. In the distance swims a school of small iridescent green fish.

The tall, rocky archway of the mouth of a cave. You're standing inside the cave, looking out. In front of you is a small figure, silhouetted in the opening, holding up a glowing yellow torch. The figure is about a third of the height of the cave opening. The opening looks out onto the ocean and the blue sky beyond. The floor of the cave is brown, the rocks are gray.

A huge, rocky cliff jutting into the ocean. At the top of the cliff, somewhat set back from the edge, is a small white house with an orange roof. Someone is walking away from the house towards the edge of the cliff. Farther down along the side of the cliff is the large black opening of a cave. Someone is standing in the cave, holding up a lantern that is illuminating the sides of the cave with yellow light. All around stretches the vast blue sky, with a scattering of seagulls in the top left. There is a hazy suggestion of white clouds on the horizon. The ocean is green.

A dark, starless night. A small, barren island in the middle of a large body of water, which is perhaps the ocean, since no other land is visible. Rising straight up from the island is a tall, craggy tower of rock. The bulk of the tower is rough and misshapen, and, while bizarre, still looks naturally formed; the top is an actual, cylindrical turret that appears to be crumbling. There is a dark window on one side of the turret, and a limp flag at the very top. About halfway up the tower, standing on one of the more prominent crags, is a dark figure holding out a blazing white lantern. Far out on the water is another white light from a ship. The figure and the ship seem to be signaling each other. Something is afoot.

Three fish swim in the deep water. Each fish has a giant human eye that takes up most of its body. Imagine if the eye on your face—not the eyeball, the eye shape itself—had fins and a tail. And there's three of them, deep in the ocean. Unsettling, no?
