A small, cratered asteroid hangs in space. It's roughly spherical, although heavily lopsided and pockmarked. Sticking out of the top of it is a large, billboard-like sign with the word "closed" on it. The sign is about as wide across as the asteroid; this is either a very big sign or a very small asteroid. Behind the asteroid stretches the vast, starry expanse of deep space.

A large, asteroid-like chunk of soil-covered rock hangs in space as though it's floating. The space it hangs in is not black, like night; more a deep blue, like early morning or late evening. Weeds and grass sprout from the asteroid; sand and debris crumble from the sides, falling downwards. The asteroid has a door and a window in it. Both are illuminated, as if the interior is inhabited, or at least inhabitable. A cable has been run out the door and dangles into the emptiness, the end of it unseen. Hanging from the cable is a person who is either climbing into or out of the asteroid.

An evening scene out in the woods. A giant telescope is mounted on a conical cement base planted on a small grassy promontory. The telescope seems to be in a clearing, with shadowy trees in the background. Above the telescope is a blazing, four-pointed star. However, the telescope is not pointed towards the star, but towards the ground behind it, and light streams from the end of the telescope, as though it's a spotlight. A person is caught in the spotlight beam.

A view from the surface of a moon. Not necessarily ours. A vast, barren, rocky landscape with a crater or two. A mountain range is dimly visible in the background. On the right is a cliff, with a few structures on it: something like a lighthouse, or smokestack, and a construction of iron girders. In the sky over the landscape hangs a large planet that is clearly occupied, given the visible outlines of continents formed by pinpoints of light. Another, smaller planet is visible farther away. The sky is filled with stars, forming a Milky-Way-like strip.

A night scene, with a starry sky. A van, seen from the front, sits in an open area, not moving, lights out. On top of the van is a giant satellite dish, pointed skyward towards a full moon. No one is visible in the van, but there is a lit window at the rear of the van, suggesting someone is home and maybe controlling the dish.

A figure sits on a blue sphere suspended in starry space, staring at a glowing red cloud a ways off. The figure holds a floating yellow ball, as though about to toss it into the cloud.

An observatory on a snow-covered hill, with an unusually bright star gleaming in the sky (which is most likely a supernova and not a celestial omen if we're being coldly practical here)

A small, domelike building overlooks the ocean. Far off, a rocket takes off from a complex of buildings.
