pumpkin

Early evening. The sky is a darkening blue-green. The last yellow glow of the sun is still visible on the horizon. In the foreground is the husk of a tree: not more than a trunk and a few sparse branches. Hanging from one of the branches is a lot jack-o'-lantern with a smiling face. A white crescent moon sits in the top right of the sky. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A dull, foggy November day. A thin figure with a greenish coat, boots, and a pumpkin for a head walks across the barren ground carrying two worn suitcases. A hazy sun hangs in the sky.

A person on a dark blue background carries a giant pumpkin balloon on a string. The pumpkin is bright orange, large enough that the person could fit inside it easily, and has an angry face on it: Facebook's "angry" reaction. There's a lot happening this time of year.

A glowing, elongated, house-sized pumpkin at night. The two blazing yellow eyes look like upper story windows; the mouth is an open doorway. There is no nose. In the right window sits a black cat. The yellow light spilling out of the mouth is reflected off the ground as though the ground is slightly wet or icy. In the foggy sky sits a full moon, the pale light reflecting off the stem of the pumpkin. This beautiful Sunday the first of October is decorative gourd season, and we at #notesArt Industries have been awaiting this moment since the weather got warm half a year earlier.
